Beginning on July 11, 2023 natives in San Antonia Rio Pinuyaco Alto in the Department of Loreto Peru have reportedly been stalked and attacked by “pelecara” or face peelers. There is a blurry compressed video posted on X that supposedly depicts a 6-7 foot tall non-human entity hiding behind foliage. The being’s face is lit by a flashlight shown through a window, but it is difficult to make much sense out of the images since it is attempting to hide behind foliage. That being said, the “head” which appears to be massive does seem to look ahead, look down and ahead again. At any rate, the people in the background do sound fearful. He feels that it is possible that this could be a genuine incident of contact. (The original of this gruesome footage has been found and is nor related to the current incident.) According to him the locals accept the “pelecara” or face peelers to be a present danger.

Digging for sources closer to the matter, I found 3 articles from the La Republica. According to them the villagers report keeping nightly watches, shooting at these entities with shotguns which have no affect, that the entities can float or fly, are all silver or clothed in silver and hooded, stand about 2 meters tall, and have attempted to abduct a 15 year old girl who was able to escape. The girl in question does have wounds on her neck. So what is my verdict? Some have suggested that the creature in the video resembles the creature from the controversial Las Vegas incident and is not a tall grey but an insectoid of some type. But for now, let the authorities do their investigation, and maybe with some more detailed accounts we can pin down the culprit. I would like to note that the US State Department lists the Loreto region of the Peru-Columbia boarder area as a level 4 “DO NOT TRAVEL” so it may just be humans (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/peru-travel-advisory.html).
